Abstract
In this article the author addresses the idea of project-based learning in the process of students’ foreign-language communicative competence development followed by secondary linguistic personality formation, which is one of the key elements of the teaching process for students of journalism, who are actively engaged not only in reading and listening to foreign-language media information, but also in selecting, systematizing and analyzing it with regard to the mentality of people associated with the language being learnt, and in so doing get extensively involved in intercultural communication.
