Abstract
The article is concerned with the rules of change from direct to indirect speech in Russian compared to Spanish. Based on the performed analysis, the common errors that are likely to be made by the Spanish-speaking students when learning Russian on basic level are revealed, and examples of practical exercises to prevent such errors and reinforce the skills of changing direct to indirect speech are presented.
