Abstract
In this article, the notion of intercultural communication in terms of historic periods which determined its appearance and development as a social phenomenon. The authors describe the conditions and needs in the knowledge of foreign languages and other nations’ cultures during reformative development. The determinants affecting the appearance and need for the intercultural communication during the period in question are mentioned. The foreign languages distribution level and their role in the society of that period are described. The peculiarities of foreign languages training which gave the grounding in further development and formation of more efficient and progressive methods of foreign languages training.
