Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of factors affecting germination of apple pollen on nutrient medium, which is used to control its viability after low-temperature storage and cryopreservation. It was shown that the germination of pollen of apple varieties Bolotovsky, Pervenetz Yakutii and Skala depends on the light regime and sucrose concentration in the germination medium. The pollen germination was better in the dark on a medium consisting of 0.1 % agar-agar and 10 ? 25 % sucrose solution. It was found that after cryopreservation the percentage of germinated pollen grains increased.
