Abstract
The article discusses one of the most urgent problems of modern society ? the number of orphans and children left without parental care. The authors determine the factors causing psychological and educational dep- rivation among children, the risk factors that violate their socialization and personal development. Defines the role of socio-pedagogical work used in the practice of a social worker. Special attention is drawn to the necessity of professional training of future social workers in work with this category of children, modeling this process in the educational activities of the University.
