Abstract
The article discusses the main provisions concerning the issue of forming a system of rural settlement in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The productive forces comprise the means of production and people using them. The distribution of productive forces in rural area has some specific features, the most essential of which is that the main means of production in agriculture is land.
