Abstract
The article is concerned with the category of pen-portrait as a text. Poetics that is inherent to the portrait in Ch. Aitmatov’s short novel “The White Cloud of Genghis Khan” is versatile and includes psychological and ethnical components reflecting the being of Aitmatov’s characters.
