THE ROLE OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF KNOWLEDGE ECONOMY IN UKRAINE

The analised discusses the role of higher education in the development of knowledge economy in Ukraine. It is noted that in the new economic paradigm of higher education, as an institution that facilitates the transfer of knowledge becomes a key factor of resource support social transformations, social and economic development. The author proves that in the new economic environment the higher education system operates under conditions of some uncertainty, which is the result of contradictions between education and “knowledge" as the leading resource of the knowledge economy, and "spirituality", as a factor of development of human civilization and Ukraine.
