Abstract
Carbon is the most interesting and nontrivial chemical element, having many properties, not characteristic to other elements. The great number of materials formed by it proves the specific character of this element. Moreover, carbon is revealed in many forms ? allotropic modifications, for instance, such as diamond. One of the most efficient approaches to the study of physicochemical properties of diamond is using preliminary computer modelling of studied dielectric characteristics. The authors of the article consider the traditional mathematical model of electronic structure of covalent non-polar chemical bond of diamond. The results of computer modelling of dielectric characteristics of temporary electron polarization of material considered.
