DEVELOPMENT OF VERB CATEGORY IN CHILDREN’S SPEECH (ON THE BASIS OF KAZAKH CHILDREN’S SPEECH)

Abstract

The article considers the issues of developing grammatical structure of the native language in the ontogenesis of children’s speech, the formation and development of verb grammatical category in the early period of Kazakh children’s life. The issues of the native language acquisition and the influence of children’s cognitive development on this process are being discussed. Also, the emphasis is given to the development of children’s vocabulary during the acquisition process of verbal forms of the native language, the ways of acquisition and development of imperative mood forms are described and analysed. The transition from the positive forms of imperatives to negative ones; the stages of forming negative sentences using negative adverbs and changing them by negative ending of verbs in second person singular are described. In this article, examples of experimental observation of the development of Kazakh children’s speech in the of one- , two- and three-word utterances periods have been suggested, which demonstrate the gradual formation of grammatical system of the native language, ability to sequence noun with personal endings of verbs in singular and plural. One of the important points in acquiring grammatical categories of the native language according to the article is the age of children who acquire their mother tongue, gradual formation and development of this grammar category and how children use them in their speech to express thoughts.
