Abstract

The article considers the problems of studying speech activity and the development of children’s speech at an early stage of language development. The author gives the analysis of ontogenesis of speech activity and studies the problems connected with its development, which are reflected on the processes of children’s speech formation. The article shows the initial tie of speech activity with an active reflection of reality and the object activity itself, as well as with an active communication and the children’s necessity in such communication. The term “language acquisition” is determined as a complex process, where children pass through simple separate language phenomena to complete lan guage acquisition of their native language. The way a child comes to the category of meaning in native language acquisition process is also underlined. Attention is given to the fact that a child’s first words are his first sentences, because his speech activity begins with a word, which is an utterance. The study of stages of children’s speech development is based on Kazakh children’s speech, which is presented through examples.
