Abstract
This case report explains a case of false positive ferric chloride test. It also attempts to explore the probable causes for this false positivity. In this case scenario false positive ferric chloride test gave a misguided diagnosis of PKU. The probable cause for false positivity in this patient could be due to the interference caused by bilirubin. Authors sound a word of caution while interpreting positive ferric chloride test.
