Abstract
Stay in the intensive care unit is an essential psychological stressor for patient and his relatives, along with other factors promotes development of the post-intensive care syndrome-family. Warrillow S. et al. (2015) revealed risk factors: previous mental diseases, female sex, marriage bonds with patient, sudden development of critical state. Concerning communicative strategy, Heath I. (2012) provides 2 main theses: 1) “treat people as you want that they treated you”; 2) “treat people as they wish that you treat them”. In the review it is shown that effective communicative interaction with the patient’ family, who is in critical illness, has a number of positive moments, making, however one of very difficult components of medical science.
