Abstract
In this article the features of usage and function of onomatopoeia in nouns and adverbs of Turkish are considered. The structural classification of onomatopoeias based on the material of H. Zülfikar's work is also presented. Examples of onomatopoeic units’ usage when translating are given and analyzed.
