Abstract
Wegener's granulomatosis is a low-frequency but severe disease. According to some reports, the disorder occurs predominantly at the age of 25 to 55 years, but can also be found in children. The aetiology and pathogenesis of the disease are not completely understood. The research has shown that the blood of patients contained antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies that induce the formation of giant-cell necrotizing granulomas of small sizes on vessel walls with subsequent destruction (necrotizing) of granulomas. A single case report is presented where a 11-year-old girl who has received no adequate treatment for a long time due to late diagnosis is diagnosed with Wegener's granulomatosis.
