Abstract
The purpose of research was to study the influence of ozone therapy on clinical score and the state of immunological reactivity in children with obstinate allergic rhinitis. Under observation there were 60 children (36 boys and 24 girls) aged from 5 to 10 suffering from obstinate allergic rhinitis of moderate severity. The first group of patients (n = 30) had complex standard therapy, the second group of patients (n = 30) received complex treatment combined with ozone therapy. The tests conducted on patients included the count of lymphocyte populations and subpopulations in blood, immunoglobulins and circulating immune complexes in blood serum, as well as phagocytosis indices. The complex standard therapy led to full but short-term clinical remission with persisting changes in immunologic reactivity of patients with allergic rhinitis. The patients with allergic rhinitis who received complex treatment combined with ozone therapy demonstrated faster improvement of clinical score with a long-lasting remission, during which the normalization of most immunologic reactivity parameters was registered.
