Abstract

Higher State Educational Establishment of Ukraine ?Bukovinian State Medical University?, Chernovtsy, Ukraine 2-Education Establishment ? Grodno State Medical University?, Grodno, Belarus 3-State Institution ?National Institute of Phthisiology and Pulmonology named after F.G. Yanovsky NAMS of Ukraine?, Kiev, Ukraine The main problem in implementing of program on combating tuberculosis in Chernivtsi region of Ukraine and in Grodno region of Belarus is a drug resistant tuberculosis. Notably multidrug-resistant form tends to increase in the number of patients with newly diagnosed tuberculosis. This is a very bad prognostic sign for the control of the TB epidemic in general. The effectiveness of the treatment is inadequate, as well the growth of HIV/TB co-morbidity is of particular concern. On of the priorities in the fight against tuberculosis is the search for new methods of treatment, the improvement of existing chemotherapy programs, the introduction of new anti-TB drugs.
