TEMPERATURE DYNAMICS IN CULTIVATED LAND OF THE DRY STEPPE ZONE OF THE CENTRAL PRE-CAUCASIAN REGION DURING THE POST BASE PERIOD OF THE WORLD METEOROLOGICAL ORGANIZATION (WMO) 1991-2014

Abstract

In this article for the first time the results of statistical processing of climatic data at the weather station Mozdok (WMO id 37145) in the period 1961-2014 relating to the dry steppe zone of the central Pre-Caucasian region of the republic of north Ossetia ? Alania are given. The average long-term norms of temperatures (year, season, month) of the basic period of WMO for the period 1961-1990 and their dynamics for the post-basic period of WMO for 1991-2014 are calculated. It is shown that for the post-basic period of WMO 1991-2014 there was a growth of average annual temperatures ? from 10,2 to 11,3?С. At the same time trends of temperatures growth are determined for a number of seasons and months. For all seasons of year, the positive growth of temperatures is noted ? from 0,4?С in the spring to 0,8?С in the summer. Positive growth of temperatures of the cold and warm periods from 0,2?С to 0,7?С respectively is also noted. Temperatures trends were determined on the basis of Cox-Stewart criterion calculation both signed-rank, and bilateral. For seasons the value z (2,88) of the Cox-Stewart criteria show that trends are confirmed for spring, autumn and the cold period of year. The monthly temperatures values have shown positive trends for separate spring, summer and autumn months of year. Values z of Cox-Stewart criterion vary from 2.14 to 2,88. The general result of calculations statistics has shown that against positive trends of temperatures for years, seasons and months, negative tendencies in temperatures dynamics are absent. Totally it provides the general positive trend of temperatures in the dry steppe zone in cultivated land of the central Pre-Caucasian region in the south of Russia and creates favorable environment for agrotechnologies set expansion of crops cultivation.
