Abstract
In the Republic of Kazakhstan there is noted a high employment of working-age population in jobs with harmful and other unfavourable working conditions, including alumina production. At each process step the workers are exposed to harmful production factors: dust of complex chemical composition, alkaline aerosol, adverse microclimatic conditions, noise, vibration, electromagnetic fields, physical load and others. Under such conditions, the enterprises must arrange for the implementation of targeted programs aimed at improving the efficiency of occupational safety management system based on a package of priority legal, administrative, technical, economic, educational, social, informative, medical and preventive measures.
