Abstract
The article presents the classification of the main provisions of the various researchers in the scientific literature regarding the impact of social capital on the economy of different countries. However, we consider the question of whether social capital is a production factor that increases the overall performance or contribute to the accumulation of physical and human capital. The author highlights the main negative effects of the use of social capital in conditions of isolation, social, racial, and ethnic stratification.
