Abstract

During the last 15-20 years considerable attention in the literature given psychiatric disorders developing stroke (1-5). This special place is given to the issue of post-stroke depression. It has been shown that depression contributes to the slowdown in the recovery of lost functions in patients with post-stroke depression often observed repeated acute cerebrovascular accident (1.4). One of the insufficiently studied issues related to features of rehabilitation after stroke is the role of the functional asymmetry of the brain in the formation of post-stroke psycho-vegetative disorders. From the viewpoint of the modern theory of functional asymmetry of the cerebral hemispheres, the right and left hemisphere contribute to the process of mental functions, therefore of interest to analyze the totality of psycho-vegetative disorders that occur in patients with stroke, depending on hemispheric lateralization of the pathological focus.
