Abstract
This research work was designed to produce fancy yarn from the stronger and excellent quality holder continuous flat multifilament yarns by using Mechanical crimp texturing technology. Texturising was carried out in the absence of heat and by using only mechanical means. Real twist (pre-twist) was used to bind crimpy configuration constituents together. Thus newly engineered fancy yarn had shown good simulation with classical ring spun fancy yarns. The yarn had executed regular fancy texture along with preservation of preferable mechanical properties of flat yarn. Bulk added on texturising had allowed product to overcome comfort associated deficiencies of its parent yarn. Single step mechanical process used for this conversion had explored new horizon for getting varieties of fancy effects by varying material and process variables along with due economy.
