Abstract
In this article the major peculiarities of Kurt Vonnegut’s “Slaughterhouse-Five, or The Children's Crusade” are noted. This pseudo-autobiographical novel blends historical background and the elements of science fiction. The author places special emphasis on the lead character called Billy Pilgrim in whose life all moments of past and future are present at the same time. Through his novel, the writer claims that the time and the life itself are inexplicable and unpredictable.
