THE CONTRIBUTION OF I.A. SOKOLYANSKIY TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION IN UMAN IN THE CHERKASY OBLAST

In the article the contribution of Ivan Afanasyevich Sokolyanskiy to the development of public education in Uman, Cherkasy oblast, Ukraine, is considered. The activities of the teacher in the position of the head of city department of public education and the impact on the development of public education that he made by elevating it to higher standards are examined. The author of the article tells the history of the foundation of children’s club and the enhancement of the operation of deaf and dumb school by efforts of the teacher. She also reveals the overall importance of pedagogical and public awareness activities of the professor in Uman.
