Abstract
Globalisation means opening up the economy for world trade by attaining international competitiveness. We all know that globalisation has great importance in overall economic development of a nation. Basically, its importance is much heavier on developing countries like India. It brings challenges and opportunities to India. It also brings changes to political and economic interdependence among the countries. It makes the north eastern and Indian economy stronger through the flow of foreign investment, foreign capital, foreign trade and easy access to technology. Our main theme of the paper is mainly concerned with this. Again in politics also, globalisation plays an important role. Political globalisation means accumulation of power into a single international government which is not always favorable for our economy. But the main issues like poverty, education, environment etc. can be solved in the region through globalisation.
