Abstract

This study aimed at investigating and finding out the level of capacity for creativity while solving mathematical & physics problems by the eleventh grade students in the Gaza Strip, as well as determining the relationship between this creativity and solving mathematical & physics problems. This study has used the descriptive approach because of the relevance of its objectives, using two tools, namely: solving mathematical and physical test, and the test for the capacity for creativity. The results showed that the percentages of eleventh grade students in Creativity capacity test was (33%), for the skill of fluency (40%), for the Skill of originality (31%), flexibility (28%). As for solving mathematical physical problems, the level reached (57%), which is much lower than the hypothetical level (70%), This shows the weakness of the students in solving mathematical physical problems, and the correlation coefficients between the grades of students' test grades in physics and math solving and Creativity is weak, indicating a lack of correlation function between the capacity for solving mathematical physical problems and the creativity capacity of the students. In the light of these results, the researchers recommended that physics teachers should have more training on how to develop the skills of creativity capacity and how to solve mathematical physical problems among high school students, and colleges of education should adopt strategies for effective teaching for teachers of science and mathematics.
