The Analysis of The Casting Steel Quality Used in Heavy Haul Train Vehicle Components

Abstract
This paper describes the examination of materials typical of those produced at zhuzhou Rolling Stock Works(zrsw) for bogie components(bolsters,sideframes) and drawgear (couplers,knuckles,youkes and collars).Plant inspections including steelmaking and casting, moulding, heat-treatment,dressing,gauging and quality testing(mechanical,chemical and metallography) were conducted.The rusults showed that it is necessary to increase minimum levels in 0.2% proof strength from 690Mpa to 800Mpa,tensile strength from 850Mpa to 950Mpa for couplers,yokes and drawbars,while retaining present ductility and impact requirements.
