Abstract
Heat treatable aluminum alloys increase in strength and hardness is achieved by precipitation hardening. In this thesis, the possibility of cold deformation influence , as interphase of hardening process, in order to improve the final mechanical properties (hardness, strength) is observed. The premise is that the cold deformation, if done after quenching and before natural or artificial aging, may favorably affect the mechanical properties. This premise was tested experimentally. The plan of the experiment was determined using the software package "Desing expert". The aging time of the samples and the solution annealing temperature were the same for all samples. In the experiment three variables were altered: the degree of deformation before aging, the temperature and duration of aging process. Response value of the experiment is hardness after completion of aging process. The results were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance.
