Abstract
Extraosseous Ewings sarcoma (EES) involving the central nervous system is rare. We present an unusual case of a primary extraosseous Ewings sarcoma arising from the spinal intradural extramedullary space, based on imaging, histopathological, and immunohistochemistry. A 15-year-old girl was admitted in the hospital with both lower limb pain for 3 months and weakness of both lower limbs for 2 months. Our provisional diagnosis based on clinical and radiological investigation was an intradural extramedullary space occupying lesion extending from D11 to S1 probably a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor or lymphoma. Since we thought of malignant lesion we proceeded with biopsy of the lesion through laminectomy at D12 level. Histopathologically reported as Ewings tumor and that was confirmed with immunohistochemistry study CD 99.The patient was treated with Chemo and radiotherapy. It has been reported that extraosseous cases of Ewings tumor is rare and reported in extradural or paravertebral area but intradural Ewings tumor is quite rare.
