Basic theories that examined the nature of the phenomenon were analyzed. It was determined that the highest level of benefits of participation in global value chains have businesses technologically advanced countries. Indicators of production industries based on imports and their share in total exports were analyzed. Structural analysis showed that the greatest demand from foreign customers enjoy products of mechanical engineering, while more complex high-tech products and other industries are less in demand, because of technological backwardness and a low degree of diversification of the national enterprises. The factors that hinder the expansion of the active participation of national companies in global value chains were revealed. Conclusion. Against the background of strengthening global integration processes in the industry, our country mainly is a supplier of low-level processing products on world market. The reason is the existence of a number of factors that hinder active participation of domestic enterprises in global production. Neutralization of these factors, establishment of business relations, correct distribution of FDI in the industry will enhance expanding the participation of national enterprises in the global value chains.
