Abstract

The article studies the economic and social usefulness of education factor in the process of resocialization of prisoners and their professional life after release from prison. Prisoners working in prisons at will, get some skills, but most of them have no vocational education which makes it impossible to be employed after release. According to the current trends in the implementation of foreign experience to penal institutions of vocational education of persons deprived of liberty, there is the need to diagnose efficiency of investment education programs for prisoners. This accelerates the process of adaptation after release from prison providing employment opportunities in the regional labor market and increases social efficiency of the penal system in Ukraine. The received vocational education increases the possibility of employment for the people imprisoned, and reduces the risk of recurrence which is the main objective of public policy in this area. The reduction of relapse among released prisoners, supplying them with profession and job should be the result of the implementation of public investment in education of prisoners in correctional institutions.
