Optimization of large-span building frames assembly process

Abstract

Functional requirements for objects of cultural and entertainment purposes, sports facilities, trade centers or industrial buildings cause an increase in span of buildings. Due to the large size and weight of structural elements, it is not possible to mount it in single piece by conventional methods using a single lifting gear. Therefore assembling of these elements are made of separate parts. This is preceded by a preliminary enlargement of the elements to form the mounting blocks with their subsequent transfer to the design position. During the increasing of unit mass, the total enlargement laboriousness increases also, and a laboriousness of the installation decreases. However, due to the fact that capital investment and recurrent costs of the enlargement stand device is greatly increased with the increasing of dimensions of the mounting blocks, it can be assumed that there is a rational option, providing the optimal ratio of dimensions of the block with the final cost of the assembly of span coverage. The further task of determining the optimal values . which characterize the mounting unit, was solved by drawing up criteria for evaluating the adjusted costs. For each span-coverage prefab element, made at the factory and delivered to the site, by means of economic and mathematical modeling of complete process it is calculated a final production cost. The result of this approach was to develop a method of improving workability of installation and construction of large-span covering the settlement system that will provide an opportunity to improve the full process and increase its efficiency. Proposed concept of establishing the optimal parameters of mounting blocks determines the minimization of costs for the large-span coverage installation and promotes the adoption of efficient organizational and technological solutions.
