Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of contemporary approaches to music education of students in China. These approaches are focused on the traditions of the national philosophy, culture, music and pedagogy this country. The author defines the leading role of music in the hierarchy of values of Chinese culture and points out that educating moral qualities traditionally are the dominative ones in the musical training of students in China. It is also described the features of the traditional Chinese music system, which consisted of 12 kinds of sounds-bells, which had specific name and endowed with magical properties. It is found out the ancient Chinese attitude to music as an ideal, sound plastic model, harmonious space that can balance the extremes of all, to correct the imbalance in any phenomenon. Ancient Chinese philosophers believed that education of nobility of soul should be implemented by music first, and reconciliation and harmony were called the basic aesthetic categories of artistic system and musical education. It is worth to admit that the specifics of modal thinking of Chinese music are determined by the author in the article. Philosophical and aesthetic foundations of pentatonic sound scale, degree of which were associated with five types of semantic intonation in Chinese, identified with the five elements of nature, parts of the world, ranks of social hierarchies are described. Developing based on pentatonic system Chinese music has a very wide range of intonation. The conclusions indicate that the ancient philosophical and aesthetic views of the place of music in society and individual education are crucial in the formation of musical education today.
