TEACHER OPINIONS ABOUT USING OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FOR TEACHING LANGUAGE SKILLS IN PRIMARY SCHOOL

Abstract
In this study, it is aimed to determine the teachers' views about the effects of using ICT for teaching language skills on social and language development of elementary school students. This Research is a case study. Focus group discussion technique was used to collect the data. The study group of the research includes 10 teachers working as primary school teacher in Yozgat city center in the 2014-2015 academic year. According to the teachers, students and teachers can reach necessary models, information and texts for developing language skills with using information technology easily. Additionally, using information technology provides a lot of opportunities to practice. However, a part of the information or text obtained by using information technology can cause false learning and prevents them from developing language awareness. Moreover if this technologies are used without being controlled the student can see contents including terrorists' propagandas, sexuality, gambling or violence. This situation effects students' development negatively.
