THE ROLE OF THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES TEACHER IN THE OF SECONDARY SCHOOL PUPILS CAREER GUIDANCE TO ІТ- SPECIALITY

Abstract

The authors of the article analyze the features of the information technologies teachers' work with pupils on the career guidance to ІТ-speciality in today's conditions. This problem is considered to be relevant as the scientists review different aspects of conducting the career guidance for the pupils and create theoretical and methodological basis of constructing career guidance at contemporary schools. But there is no studies of implementing career guidance to ІТ-speciality into the work with pupils at comprehensive schools. The authors come from a position of the teacher's key role in pedagogical support of pupils' professional self-determination. It is noted that engaging pupils to the project activity using information and communication technologies while teaching school subjects stimulates the pupils' interest to information and communication technologies, expands their understanding of the professional activities related to the IT industry. The article identifies that the information technologies teachers' systematic and purposeful work with pupils may be realized in different ways and forms: the teacher provides consulting assistance to pupils with career guidance to IT-profession; reviews the program material, analyzes the textbooks, selects and involves career guidance materials to the educational process; the teacher supports the pupils' participation in different types of competitions in computer science and information technologies; conducts individual work with gifted pupils; provides communication with the pupils' parents; accompanies and coordinates the work of higher education institutions and IT-companies with career guidance. The authors note that there some difficulties may appear while learning the subject “Information Technologies”. Dynamics and innovative character of IT-sphere; the issues of fundamentalization, overcoming technological direction; making up new concepts, standards and models of IT-education according to competence approach are among them. Highlighted features of the information technologies teachers' work with pupils on career guidance to ІТ-speciality should be reflected in future information technologies teachers' professional education. Developing theoretical and methodological principles of the information technologies teachers' training for the pupils' career guidance to IT specialties is one of the important fields of further scientific study.
