Abstract
Тhe model of developing secondary school pupils' communicative skills in the process of working on the text retellingadding microthemes has been developed in the article. The components of the model have been characterized (the objective,the tasks and stages of preparation). Tthe objectives, as well as the choice of methods, techniques and forms of the learning process have been formulated, the basic elements of the procedure component have been defined. It has been shown that the implementation of the model developed by the author is ensured by the establishment of appropriate pedagogical conditions: the formation of need to use retellling with the introduction of additional microtheme and creating a learning environment. The problem of the place of text retellingwith the introduction of the additional microtopic in the learning process has been investigated. It has been substantiated as appropriate to provide class hours for working on the given type of retelling in every form.
