PHILOSOPHICAL PARADIGMS OF CONSTRUCTIVISM: A REVIEW OF LITERATURE

Abstract
In this study, philosophical roots of the constructivist approach have been discussed via ontological and epistemological dimensions. In accordance with the basic principles of logic and philosophy of the constructivist approach, similar feelings and thoughts expressed in history of philosophy have been covered. Information, objective reality, perception, how learning occurred, the function of the mind in learning, social environment, the learning process have been discussed in terms of language and culture. Philosophical thoughts addressing ideas which take stand against mannerism, modernism and positivist understanding, and approaching ideas similar to constructivist understanding were evaluated. In this research, studies were carried on by literature search. Data was acquired by taking advantage of primary and secondary sources. The topics identified by doing pre-source search, and then by detailed source search were entered to literature search via different tools. It was determined that the constructivist approach to different ways of thinking expressed in the history of the research process. In the research, expression of constructivist approach with different ways of thinking within the historical process was stated.
