Abstract
In the article, the author highlights the impact of ceremonial functions on the education of children and adolescents the East Slavs, based on the realization of historical and pedagogical analysis of ethnographic sources. In traditional and consumer culture customs, rituals, festivals are specific forms of education of future generations. The author shows that children's participation in the annual ritual festivals was one of the ways of the East Slavs' traditional pedagogy as for the socialization of children and their attraction to the community life, and comes to the conclusion that children's participation in rituals strengthened their effective side and guaranteed the expected result. In rituals our ancestors found themselves being talented educators. Educational aspects were not detached, they were implemented in actions. The ceremonial actions accompanied a child for life.
