The investigations of German settlements of Dnipropetrovsk region under Nazi occupation

Occupation authorities organized realization of some investigations with the historical nature in the period of Nazi occupation of Ukraine. Their main aim was to substantiate the German presence in the occupied territories. Investigations of numerous German settlements, its history, the history of German colonization and circumstances in this settlements in the Interwar Period were the one of the main investigations. Activities of Nazi authorities in the given direction are the subject of this article. The investigations of German settlements were carried by the Sonderkommando of dr. K. Stumpp's Reich Ministry for the Occupied Eastern Territories, the Hauptamt Volksdeutsche Mittelstelle which was subordinated to Reichsfurer-SS H. Himmler and other organizations. Activities of these organizations weren't always scientific and not always pursued scientific aims. The special focus in the article is on the results of investigations, the characteristics of principal directions of this organizations' activities, their objects and difficulties which they run into.
