Abstract

We have considered the main known theories of syllable in modern linguistics: theory of implosionexplosion sequence, theory of syllable bearers, Muscular Tension Theory. In domestic linguistics the theory of muscular tension at syllable formation supported by recognized phoneticians was widely adopted. Novelty of this article in a comparative analysis of different languages.
