Abstract

The article examines wear resistance increasing means for roll-cone drill bit teeth. There were proposed the methods of teeth working surface reinforcing by cast tungsten carbide with nickel plaque and a mixture of titanium and boron carbide powders. Wear mathematical models of reinforced surfaces, welded with plaque and non-plaque cast tungsten carbide were developed. The study also found that wear resistance rate of teeth covered with clad relief is 1.21 times more than in comparison with standard ones. There were grounded the perspective of electric arc surfacing usage of titanium and boron carbide powders mixtures with self-propagating hightemperature synthesis for strengthening roll-cone drill bits. Proposed means increase wear rate resistance of teeth to hardened tungsten carbide surfacing.
