Understanding Knowledge Sharing and Social Capital in Social Network Sites

Abstract
This research is intended to explore whether the intensity of use of SNSs is related to users’ social capital dimension: structural (social interaction ties), relational social capital (trust, norms of reciprocity, and identification), cognitive (shared vision) and furthermore their relation with knowledge sharing. The result will be analyzed using PLS-SEM method to examine the hypotheses. We found that the use of SNSs raise all dimensions of social capital. We also found that structural and cognitive dimensions of social capital positively related to knowledge sharing.
