CONTENT AND METHODOLOGY OF PEDAGOGICAL EXPERIMENT ON FORMATION SOCIAL COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE OF FUTURE NAVIGATORS’ IN THE PROCESS OF LEARNING THE HUMANITIES

Abstract

The content and methodology of formation of future navigators' social communicative competence pedagogical experiment are considered in this article. Social science, social philosophy, communicative philosophy and pedagogy regard social communicative competence as one of the most important values and component for efficient interpersonal interaction. The pedagogical experiment has covered 326 cadets. The following humanities have been taken into consideration History of Ukraine, History of Ukrainian Culture, English, Philosophy, Ethics Religious Tolerance, Maritime Resourse Management, Professional English, Professional Ukrainian, Business Correspondence, Social and Psychological Technologies of Crew Management. The structural and functional model and pedagogical conditions have been implemented. The methodic basis of pedagogical conditions is as follows: didactic part (discipline work program with addenda), organizational and pedagogical part (system of forms, methods and ways of teaching and diagnostic activities), professional part (system of communicative tasks, topics for discussion, role plays). The forming stage of pedagogical experiment in E group has included the structuring of the content of humanities appropriate to the basic personal values, allocating the didactic units required for disclosing social competence. They are respect for Other, tolerance, recognition of Other's right for own opinion. The dialogical techniques have provided for the development of interpersonal interaction future navigators' skills. Group and pair discussion, brain storm, round table talk, debates, etc. generate the cadets' proficiencies of social and cultural interaction. The interdisciplinary approach allows of implementing drilling of abilities and skills in taking the management decision as per requirements of contextual learning. For this purpose we have chosen such disciplines of professional and practical training as Professional English and Watchkeeping Practice, Navigation and Pilotage, Ship's Operation, Safety Measures on Ship, Technology of Cargo Transportation, MRM, etc. The typical communicative situations of professional activities have been singled out: positions on ship and responsibilities, safety aboard the ship, security of the ship in port and at sea, organization of crew cooperation regarding the psychological and cultural differences and their influence on professional activity efficiency. The sufficient grounding of the scientific and pedagogical staff to realize the aims of the experiment has been provided for special workshop on formation the future navigators' social communicative competence. The history of communicative philosophy, the peculiarities of dialogue interpretation in philosophy, social science, psychology and pedagogy, the main ways of teacher's work, forms and methods of future navigators' social communicative competence formation have been subjects of this workshop.
