Abstract
The paper defines and characterises trends in the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine in the context of its impact on improving the health care system. Increasing dependence on foreign supplies of medicines and increase in the negative balance in trade with Russia and the countries of Europe was found. The cluster mechanism of organization of the pharmaceutical industry is proposed as a solution to the problematic situation.
