Abstract

The mechanisms of participations of employees in commercial companies (primarily in joint-stock companies) are different. The basic forms are participation in managing trough membership in the bodies of the company (managing and/or supervisory boards), participation in the business structure of the company (shareholding of the employees), and participation in the business in the form of being informed and consulted directly or by means of a special body such as the council of the employees. EU member states have very different approaches and there is no uniform regulation. On the one hand, in some countries it is not even legally regulated, so it is entirely left to statutory regulation and the will of the shareholders. On the other hand, this issue is regulated by the law, but again, in different ways. Edited depends accepted system management, whether it is a unicameral system of government (Sweden, for example.)
