From the book to digital text: Diachrony towards e-reading

The Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have transformed the reading practices. Specifically, the mobile electronic devices offer a new way to access to the texts with which new strategies, skills, levels and dimensions of reading get involved. The reading involve global, plural, multiple approaches, recently grouped under the name of Literacy. The article's main objective is to make a journey through the history of the book until the appearance of e-reading, and their social meanings, that point to a unity frame experiences, but also a world that creates new forms of fragmentation and dispersion, in words of Anthony Giddens.
