Abstract

Background. It is necessary to search for new solutions to the problem of adequate fixation of removable plate dentures within the economically available technology. The purpose of the study is to assess the effectiveness of the modified method of fixing removable plate dentures using cytological study of gingival fluid of orthopedic patients with single standing tooth on the lower jaw. Material and methods. The cytological investigation of gingival fluid in 30 orthopedic patients with a single standing tooth on the lower jaw who use removable plate dentures with different types of fixing was carried out. Results. Comparative evaluation of the investigation results of gingival fluid cell structure revealed a significant difference of the studied parameters in patients of the investigated groups a month later after putting up the dentures. Conclusions. The modified removable plate dentures influence less negatively on the supporting tooth.
