Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of transfer of the meaning of everyday culturespecific elements from Japanese into Russian. The process of reading and understanding the text depends on the analysis of the culture-specific elements and translation techniques used to convey its meaning to the language of translation. Much attention should be paid to the adequate conveying of culture-specific elements, since the translated text may lose its national color or become incomprehensible to the reader. In the case of translation from Japanese into Russian, the analysis of the culture-specific elements is one of the key stages of the entire text translation.
