CLASSIFICATION OF METALS

The most well-known and well-thought-out classification of metals is the periodic table. There is known classification, according to which all metals and metal alloys are divided into two groups – ferrous and nonferrous, and the ferrous group contains one metal – iron. Gulyaev A.P. also divided all metals into ferrous and nonferrous, including a number of other metals in the group of ferrous. Taking into account all the advantages of this classification, it has some disadvantages. The classification of metals, improving the classification of metals, developed by Gulyaev A. P. is proposed. Density, melting point, metal application area are selected as classification criteria.
