Abstract

Primary malignant melanoma of nasal fossaeis a rare tumor, they represent 3 to 4% of sinonasal cancers. The diagnosis of nasosinus malignant melanoma remains late given the absence of specific clinical signs and risk factors, it is confirmed by the anatomopathological examination. The immunohistochemistry reinforces the diagnosis in thepresence of any achromic varieties or those simulating an undifferentiated tumour or neurinoma.Computed tomography(CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a prerequisite for local and general pretherapeutic evaluation.Surgery is the main indication witha large excision by external approach. There is no consensusregarding post-operative attitude, however in recent studies adjuvant external radiotherapy would provide better local control.Chemotherapyremains in force in the metastatic forms. The prognosis ofMalignant melanoma of nasal fossae remains pejorative with a 10 to 40% survival rate of 5 years. We report a case of primary malignant melanoma of nasal fossae treated inthe service of onco-radiotherapy university hospital of Marrakech.
